Nikkor Lenses

Professional photographers and serious amateurs often gravitate towards at least one good Nikon Camera and several Nikkor lenses in their bag of equipment. This is not surprising since Nikon and Nikkor have proven to be tough and extremely durable camera bodies and glass lenses.

Nikkor lenses are made by Nikon's optics division and make up most lenses currently available for the Nikon F-mount. The F-mount has become the largest system of interchangeable flange-mount photographic lenses in history. There are more than 400 different F-mount Nikkor models.

The ability to exchange lenses, to select the best lens for a current photographic need, and to allow the attachment of specialized lenses, is the key to the popularity of DSLR cameras in general and the reason why many pros want Nikon camera bodies and nikkor lenses. Everyone seems to want full-frame sensors in their lenses but currently, because of their high cost, only a few DSLRs have them: these include the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, the Canon EOS 5D, and the Nikon D3. The Nikon d3 is considered a top line camera and the price naturally reflects that fact.

Nikkor lenses are considered excellent lenses able to satisfy even the most critical photographers. You will find them to be flexible with the ability to capture almost any image you can imagine. Picking the best lens for your own situation is a personal decision that only the photographer can make. Since most photographers try to cover a fairly broad spectrum of photography from landscapes to sports shooting, they often carry a wide variety of lenses and other equipment and accessories in their bags.

Social networking has given birth to a genre of portraits

The camera doesn't love me. It doesn't quite loathe me, either. Occasionally, it warms up to my crooked nose and zigzag smile. But based on the law of averages, I can safely predict that I'd rather see most shots taken of me disappear into the vast digital universe where they came from.
