Genital Herpes Virus
Genital herpes virus is known to affect one in four women, and over 45 million deal with the herpes virus and these are the ones that have been tested and confirmed to have the virus. Many people who have herpes virus don\'t even know that they have it, outbreaks can be very simple, or can be very severe.
When first contracting herpes, a sexually transmitted disease, the venereal disease can attack the body\'s immune system in a variety of ways. Some people only have one blister-like sore, it may itch a bit and can be painful, and then have it disappear. Others, have an attack that is much more severe with their first onset of herpes virus, and can have multiple blisters, flu like symptoms, and can actually wind up in the hospital.
As a rule this is a venereal disease or a sexually transmitted disease, but it can still be passed from person to person from mouth blisters, also known as cold sores. It has to be an open tissue to open tissue transference, such as slight tears during intercourse, or a mouth sore and contact with someone who has a cold sore.
Many times the herpes virus can settle into the vagina or the anal tract, where the pain and itching is not so noticeable, resulting in passing the disease even further.
There is no cure for genital herpes virus, but there are medications that can help control this disease. Some people use a cream on their breakouts, others will take prescription medicine, and still others have a slight case and they may not be medicated all.
Nutrition and stress seem to have a lot to do with how often people have a breakout. Any time they are severely stressed, or even severely stress the genitals, a breakout can occur. Those who have it on a regular basis use daily medication to help control the disease, try to eat better, and stay away from stressful situations.
Genital herpes virus can occur anywhere on the body but it\'s most likely in the genital area or the mouth area. While it is uncommon to see this in other types of open wounds it can occur, but it\'s a rare case.
While medication can help genital herpes, they\'re still working on an actual cure. They are doing nothing and research trials on a herpes vaccine, but there\'s no telling when it may become available to the general public. Using condoms is a barrier but there are no foolproof methods for not contracting the disease if you are in contact with someone who already has it. At almost epidemic rates, it\'s becoming one of the most common STDs in the world today and yet there is hope for a cure on the way. Leave a comment | View Comments |
