When you take up golfing, you obviously are going to need a set of golf clubs. There are a vast number of companies out there that will sell you top of the line golf clubs. But if you are just starting you may just want to pick up a good used set. Used sets can be found online or even at a garage sale. Better-used sets are refurbished for resale at a lot of sporting goods stores and pro shops as well, as second hand sports stores.

Golfing can be a pastime game of extreme concentration or blithe fun. Whichever the case, there needs to be a bond between the clubs and the golfer as the golf club is merely an extension of the arm. Clubs are constantly being studied, re-evaluated and altered to find the perfect tool to play the perfect game. The first games were played by using old wood shafts and club heads, later an English steel and leather found to be in the wood shafted clubs were better for playing.

A good set of golf clubs will allow you to strategically hit that little round ball from tee off to rolling it into the cup at the end of each hole. There are a wide range of brands, sizes and shapes of clubs to be had. Researching all facets of the clubs is highly recommended. With the modern world of technology at our hands, researching is readily at hand. Before purchasing a set of clubs, you should compare brands, makes, and models. From tee off drivers to putters and specialty clubs each one deserves individual attention. To make a full set of clubs you will need, a driver, formerly called a mashy, fairway woods, putters, irons, chippers, wedges, and other clubs. Every golf club is made similarly except that they each have a unique component that compliments it purpose.

Most golf courses have pro shops where you can get help getting fitted for a set of golf clubs. They may also be able to find a full set of golf clubs pre packaged that will fulfill all your needs when getting ready to play a round on the golf course. Alternatively, if you prefer, buy just the necessary clubs needed to start a set. That would include one driver, 3 irons and a putter wheel fit the bill. A complete set on the other hand would be to have 3 drivers, irons numbered two thru nine, a sand wedge, a chipper and a putter. Other things to consider when building a set of golf clubs is weight, length, and flexibility. Many places will rent a set of clubs that you can experiment with until you find something that works well and is comfortable for you and this is a better alternative than purchasing a set and finding out it will work for you.
