There\'s such a wide variety of cleaning supplies available for your home that it can be hard to choose what\'s going to work best for you. Also, you need to be aware that some of these chemicals do not mix well together, cause toxic fumes, and can actually harm your nasal passages and your lungs if you use them incorrectly.

Before choosing a household cleaner, perhaps deciding what type of job needs to be done is the best way to choose. The only types of household grime that can not be cleaned with inexpensive cleaners are going to be those types of hard jobs such as grease on the walls, oven grime, and possibly an area that hasn\'t been cleaned very frequently such as underneath your oven or underneath your refrigerator. All of the other areas can be cleaned with a light astringent cleaner. You\'ll find these available in citric cleansers. They\'ll often have a lemon or orange smell to them, and this is actually the citric oils that can break down dirt and grease. Use this type of cleaner on all of your counters, your floors, and for most surface dirt.

For those tougher jobs, you may want to look for those types of cleaners that are foaming cleansers, or have harsh chemical compounds. Just make sure you follow manufacturer\'s directions and wear gloves while using them. Some of these types of cleaners can quickly cut through heavy duty grime, heavy duty grease on walls, but make sure it\'s safe for whatever surface that you\'re using it on. Some of these chemicals can a harm wood finish or wall finish in your home.

If you\'re into organic cleansers, have children or family members in your home that have allergies, you might want to look to organic cleaners. You\'re going to find Simple Green is an effective cleanser for just about everything and as a rule will not cause allergic reactions. Again, you\'ll want to use gloves, but this type of cleaner can be mixed to clean your oven, heavy grease, light counter work, and even help in your laundry. It\'s a great choice for an overall household cleaner, and you\'ll be surprised at how inexpensive it is.

If you\'re trying to kill germs, bacteria and mold and mildew, there are cleaning supplies that are specific for those as well. Just make sure that you are in well ventilated area, while you\'re using these types of antibacterials as some of them can be rather hazardous to your health in small closed areas. Lysol, or other types of sprays that can actually kill viruses and bacteria is a great choice to clean your home and keep bacteria and viruses to a minimum.
