Rims and Tires for your Vehicle

The rims and tires on your vehicle may not need a lot of care on a regular basis, but, they are essential to your safety.

Taking care of your rims and tires is really rather easy, if you are not familiar with checking your tire for wear or air pressure, talk to your tire professional and have them show you what to watch for.

You will be watching for low tire pressure as well as uneven tread wear which can indicate a problem somewhere in your suspension system or possibly even tire manufacture defects. You\'ll also be looking for wear on the inside of the tire, uneven bumps throughout the tire, possibly wires showing through or complete baldness on one tire but not on the others. All of this will often indicate a problem with the suspension in your vehicle and needs to be taken care as soon as possible or more damage will result to the suspension and the tire.

Also, the holes in the tire rim can become worn and if they become too loose or too large for the lug nut, the lug nuts can become severed causing the tire and rim to separate from your vehicle. This is an extremely dangerous situation and can cause you to have an accident and also, because the tire and rim will continue down the road it\'s a road hazard for others as well.

If you do find you have a problem with a rim and tire on your vehicle, you\'ll have to purchase new ones, or file for manufacturers defect refund. It\'s important that the rims and tires for your vehicle fit your vehicle appropriately. Although there are tire and rim spacers that can allow you to put different types of tires on your rims, make sure that you check with a professional before purchasing either over or undersized tires, or spacers for your rims.

Your rims and tires are more important to your safety than you might think, in fact, you and your family\'s safety are riding on those parts of your vehicle. Sudden blow outs, wheel and rim separation, and even just a flat tire can cause you to have a severe accident. Make sure your tire professional teaches you what to watch for in your rims and tires, and then make sure they fit your vehicle appropriately.
