A Brief Review On Canon Cameras' Video Recorder Line

The video camera is one gadget that every home has adopted instantly for want to capture moments more accurately since the end result is sort of a movie. Video cameras capture and store sequential images either in analog or digital modes. Digital has become more and more popular and Canon cameras are mostly the bestsellers.

There are different types of video cameras depending on their usage: there's the television camera used in filming your favorite show, camcorders for general usage, surveillance cameras and those used or installed in space satellites to record scientific studies. Depending on the type, the price is anywhere from $200 to $100,000.

A typical video camera is composed of a lens and a sensor, which is either CCD (Charge Coupled Device) or CMOS. The sensors transform light into electronic impulses. Another component is the VCR (video cassette recorder), which stores these impulses or signals from the sensor into a media like tape. Analog signals are stored as magnetic patterns for tape media while digital converts the signal to something that can be easily read into a computer's hard drive or in a DVD.

Canon has been leading the pack in the camera industry since 1933. The company offers a wide variety of digital camera products including video and still. In the video line, camcorder models include the IXY DV series for general or personal use and the XV/XL series for professional use.

XL series video camcorders can manipulate high definition digital images by way of a proprietary chip. Formats for storage include mini DV cassettes, micro DV tapes for MPEGs, mini DVDs and DVDRs, mini DVD RAM, 8mm tapes, and hard disks. Many people mostly prefer the mini DV.

This article briefly discusses some of the more prominent features of the Canon video cameras that are built for the beginners and the more advanced users.

HV10HDV Canon cameras are the $1000-wortth camcorder that has a resolution of 1920x1080 and uses mini DVs. There is a standard mode option if images are to be played in non HD TVs. It has an optical zoom capacity of 10x and a digital zoom of 200x. It can store up to 2.96 megapixels and features a 2.7in LCD screen.

Elura 60 Canon cameras are the camcorder for the beginners. It can be used at home for general purposes. Its optical zom is 10x and it has a 2.5in TFT LCD screen. It stores 1.3 megapixels into mini DV cassettes and SD memory and runs on 7.4-volt Lithium batteries.
